Sarah Liguori grew up in Tucson and earned a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Arizona. During college she worked in real estate on a land development project in Benson, AZ and coached soccer at her former high school. She also studied International Business and Marketing at Lorenzo de Medici University in Florence, Italy. After college, Sarah moved to Central Phoenix to pursue a career in commercial real estate development. She lives and works in the heart of both the district she currently represents, Legislative District 28, and in new Legislative District 5. During the Great Recession, Sarah used her economics background to become a licensed Financial Advisor at BMO Harris Bank. In her role at the bank, she was able to help clients build long-term financial plans to pursue their goals. Later, she started her own practice in order to focus on small business clients, young professionals and families. She believes that financial planning guidance should be more readily accessible to people, no matter their net worth. She values her community connections and knows she is bringing her professional background in finance along with her experience as a small business owner to her new role shaping legislation that strengthens Arizona’s families. Sarah is the mother of two sons, ages 5 and 3. She is married to Andrew – a childhood friend! – who is a radiologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Sarah is a strong advocate for public education, knowing that it is the foundation that gives every child the opportunity for a successful life. She is passionate about issues of equity and equality in our society. She knows we must address the threat of climate change, and work to provide clean air and quality water in order to secure a future that works for all Arizonans. Sarah was appointed in 2021 to fill a vacancy in the State House of Representatives. She serves on the Government and Elections and the Commerce Committees. In her free time, Sarah enjoys taking her boys to explore different parks around Phoenix and supporting the local businesses and restaurants her family loves. She is an avid reader and enjoys traveling and shares a great appreciation for different cultures. |
