Jesus Rubalcava is an Arizona native born in Ajo and raised in Gila Bend. He is a graduate of Gila Bend High School, and is very well known in his community for his many accomplishments and
involvement. Jesus has served for eight years on the Gila Bend USD Governing Board. Prior to that, he served on the Paloma ESD Governing Board at the age of 18 for two years. He served on the
Town of Gila Bend Council for two years. Jesus is a member of the Gila Bend Rotary International Club.
Jesus has demonstrated the quality leadership skills through his involvement in many local, state, national and international organizations. Rubalcava served at the President of the Arizona School Boards
Association (ASBA) in 2015. Prior to that, he served as the President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary and as Maricopa County Co-Director for the association.
Jesus is serving as the Hispanic Vice-Chair of the Hispanic Native American Indian Caucus of ASBA where he voices the concerns and needs of Hispanic and Native American students. He is currently serving
as the Pacific Region Director of the National School Boards Association (NSBA) and is the Secretary of the National Hispanic Caucus of NSBA.
Jesus is currently a Special Education Educator in the Buckeye Elementary School District and is enrolled in a Doctoral program with an emphasis on Educational Leadership at Northcentral University.
Jesus was elected as a State Representative for Legislative District 4 in 2016. Jesus sits on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee.
Most importantly, Jesus has a strong awareness and vested interest in Arizona’s public education, as he and his wife Cristina are the proud parents of 3 boys whose futures and opportunities will depend
on their receiving quality education in our great State.
