Convention Details

  • This convention requires the authorization of each State’s leadership of both houses (except for Nebraska which is unicameral) in order for delegates to be credentialed at the Arizona Convention. This means both Senate and House Leaders must provide a document with their signature approving the names to the convention. This level of authorization has not happened since 1861 during the Washington Peace Conference.
  • Delegates who are not on their State’s official approved list will not be seated.

  • The convention is authorized by the official call within Arizona House Concurrent Resolution 2022.
  • The purpose of the convention is to propose a set of rules for the official Article V Balanced Budget Amendment Convention.
  • Any rules proposed from this convention will have been created with the highest authority thus-far, with the authority of approved delegations speaking on behalf of their state.
