David Christian Farnsworth was born in Mexico City, Mexico. Later, his family returned to Arizona where he graduated from Mesa High School. He went on to earn his A.A. degree from Mesa Community College in 1979. Farnsworth's career experience includes owning a real estate investment and rental management business and several other commercial ventures. He also worked as a licensed real estate and insurance agent and as a supervisor for Home Depot. He is married to Robin Farnsworth. Farnsworth and his wife are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man, Farnsworth served a two-year mission in the Guatemala/El Salvador Mission. He has seven children, 32 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren! Farnsworth loves to read. He has read his favorite book (The Book of Mormon) in 5 languages and began 2025 reading it in yet another challenging tongue, Romanian, which is the oldest spoken language in Europe. His favorite character trait is to be teachable, believing that we can all learn something from each other. As an experienced legislator, Senator Farnsworth's negotiation style is to bring together stakeholders with a variety of perspectives, place an issue in the middle of the table, and talk about it until an equitable solution is found. When that is accomplished, he moves to create a bill that will bring the solution to fruition. Farnsworth has a passion for good government and protecting constitutional freedoms. This passion is what led him to get involved in government. He currently serves as a precinct committeeman and a state senator for District 10. |
