Diego Rodriguez lives in Laveen and is the father of two kids, a daughter, age 15 and a son who is age 5. Diego has devoted his professional career to fighting for equity and justice for all in Arizona.

The grandson of farm workers and son of a single mother, Diego made his way from Casper, Wyoming to the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Finance. In 1992, he arrived in Arizona for law school and upon graduation, immediately entered into public service as a prosecutor for the Pima County Attorney's misdemeanor unit. He spent 4 years in that office and during that time he gained a wealth of experience as a felony, violent crimes and homicide prosecutor. His work as a prosecutor in the criminal justice system taught him many lessons about the struggles of everyday working families and the harm a substandard education can do a child's future. His passion for LD27 stems from his belief that earning a seat in the state legislature is a great way to fight for working families, public education and school safety at this critical time in our history.

In 2008, Diego started his own law firm, specializing in criminal defense and personal injury cases. As a father, and small business owner, Diego understands the importance of fully funded, safe schools are to our community. He understands that working families need a voice to stand up for them in our state legislature, so all of our kids can have the chance to live the American dream no matter where they went to school or what part of town they may have grown up in.

Diego is an ardent supporter of public education, a livable wage so that our working families do not have to work two or 3 jobs to support their families, criminal justice reform in order to invest more money into mental health good schools instead of private prisons that only hurt our economic growth and providing good paying jobs.

Diego is ready to create this progressive vision for our families to create a thriving and prosperous Arizona.
