Jennifer Benally is serving her first term at the Arizona House of Representatives. She and her husband, Kent, live in Tuba City and they have 10 children and 14 grandchildren. She has lived in Arizona since 1957, when she moved here from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Rep. Benally attended Window Rock High School and Northern Arizona University. After working for family owned businesses in Aspen, Colorado and Monument Valley, Utah, Rep. Benally served as a Navajo Nation police officer from 1982-1990. She then worked as a legal advocate for the Law Office of John Yazzi before becoming a Tuba City Prosecutor in 1992. After six years as a prosecutor, Rep. Benally became a district court judge for the Navajo Nation. Rep. Benally retired from the bench in 2014, the year she was elected to serve in the legislature. She remains a member of the Navajo Nation Bar Association.

Rep. Benally serves on the Agriculture, Water and Land Committee, as well as the Rural and Economic Development Committee in the House of Representatives. In addition to her legislative work, Rep. Benally and her husband promote responsible ranching and healthy livestock practices, and family values.
