Laws 2000 Ch. 70 made March 31 of each year Dr. Cesar Estrada Chavez day as a non-legal holiday.

Title 1 Ch. 3 outlines legal holidays and non-legal holidays. Public offices and courts must close on legal holidays with certain outlined exceptions. The following days are considered legal holidays: 1) New Year's Day; 2) Martin Luther King, Jr./Civil Rights Day; 3) Lincoln/Washington Presidents' Day; 4) Mothers' Day; 5) Memorial Day; 6) Native American Day; 7) Fathers' Day; 8) Independence Day; 9) American Family Day; 10) National Navajo Code Talkers Day; 11) Labor Day; 12) Constitution Commemoration Day; 13) Columbus Day; 14) Veterans' Day; 15) Thanksgiving Day; 16) Christmas Day (A.R.S. §§ 1-301, 1-302).
