FACT SHEET FOR S.B. 1062

 

appropriation; Route 60; intersection improvements

Purpose

Appropriates $1,000,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2027 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for costs associated with an additional left turn lane and other intersection improvements at the intersection of U.S. Route 60 and Superstition Mountain Drive.

Background

ADOT is tasked with providing an integrated balanced state transportation system and has exclusive control and jurisdiction over all: 1) state highways; 2) state roads; 3) state-owned airports; and 4) state-owned transportation systems or modes. ADOT is responsible for the design and construction of transportation facilities in accordance with a priority plan and to maintain and operate all state-owned highways, airports and public transportation systems (A.R.S. §§ 28-331 and 28-332).

S.B. 1062 appropriates $1,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2027 to ADOT.

Provisions

1.   Appropriates $1,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2027 to ADOT for costs associated with planning, designing, construction and the acquisition of right-of-way or easements for an additional left turn lane and other intersection improvements at the intersection of U.S. Route 60 and Superstition Mountain Drive.

2.   Becomes effective on the general effective date.
