Overview

Subject to voter approval, requires that a general election for city, town or school district officials take place on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of every even numbered year. 

History

The Arizona Constitution requires that there be a biennial general election of representatives in Congress, and of state, county and precinct officers on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even numbered years (Ariz. Const. Art. VII, § 11).

Nonpartisan elections and elections held by a school district, a city or a town that are not held concurrently with a general election must be called not later than 180 days before the date of the election (A.R.S. § 16-226).  

Provisions

1.   Requires that a general election for city, town or school district officials take place on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of every even numbered year.
