Overview

Urges the United States (U.S.) Congress to enact H.R. 55 and repeal the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA).

History

The NVRA establishes federal requirements related to voter registration for elections for federal office, including provisions governing voter registration opportunities and voter registration list maintenance. The NVRA applies to states and political subdivisions responsible for administering federal elections and prescribes certain uniform procedures intended to increase the number of eligible citizens registered to vote (52 U.S.C. § 20501).

Provisions

1.   Urges the U.S. Congress to enact H.R. 55 and repeal the NVRA. (Sec. 1)

2.   Authorizes the Arizona Secretary of State to distribute copies of this memorial to the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. President and each member of Congress from Arizona. (Sec. 1)
