Overview

Contains provisions relating to the management of state-owned buildings needed to implement the FY 2027 budget.

History

The Arizona Legislature adopts a budget for each fiscal year (FY) that contains general appropriations. Article IV, Section 20, Part 2 of the Constitution of Arizona requires the General Appropriations Act (feed bill) to contain only appropriations for the different state departments, state institutions, public schools and interest on public debt. Statutory changes necessary to reconcile the appropriations made in the feed bill and other changes are drafted into separate budget bills. These bills are prepared according to subject area.

Provisions

1.   Sets the Capital Outlay Stabilization Fund rental rates for state-owned buildings in FY 2027 at:

a.   $17.87 per square foot for office space; and

b.   $6.43 per square foot for storage space. (Sec. 1)

2.   Requires the Arizona Department of Administration, in FY 2027, to submit a report to specified governmental entities within 10 days after the sale of Arizona-owned real property located within the governmental mall. (Sec. 2)

3.   Prescribes the report to include the:

a.   address of the real property;

b.   square footage of the real property;

c. purchase price of the real property; and

d.   name of the fund receiving the sale proceeds. (Sec. 2)

4.   Authorizes Legislative Council to provide for the placement of a commemorative plaque in the governmental mall recognizing the service of the Arizona America 250 Commission. (Sec. 3)

5.   Specifies that the establishment of the commemorative plaque is subject to statutory procedures. (Sec. 3)

6.   Prohibits the use of public monies for the costs of the plaque. (Sec. 3)

7.   Repeals the section pertaining to the commemorative plaque on October 1, 2029. (Sec. 3)
