Overview

Exempts a rural fire district from providing worker's compensation to volunteer firefighters.

History

Current law allows a special taxing district to be created for the purposes of providing fire, rescue and emergency services to a geographical area which can include but is not limited to unincorporated and rural areas. There are currently more than 130 fire districts in Arizona (A.R.S. §§ 48-802 et seq.)(AFDA).
