HB2090: ASRS; long-term disability

Sponsor: Representative Livingston, LD 28

Committee on Ways & Means

Overview

Modifies the time frame for a member to be considered to have a disability if they have received monthly Long Term Disability (LTD) program benefits from 24 months within a 5-year period, to a total of 24 months.

History

Active members making contributions to the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) also participate in the LTD, funded by a separate contribution from members and employers to the ASRS. The LTD plan provides for a monthly benefit designed to partially replace income lost if you are unable to work due to an illness (including some pregnancies) or injury (AZASRS.gov).
