A RESOLUTION

on the death of Daniel Kayde Blackman.

Daniel Kayde Blackman passed away on May 27, 2026 at the age of 31, leaving behind a legacy of goodness, quiet strength, vision and Christlike service that will long be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Daniel Blackman was born on February 2, 1995 in Show Low, Arizona to his loving parents, Walt and Kristie Blackman, who cherished him as a precious son and blessing in their family.

Daniel was a beloved brother to Brittian Blackman, Trey Blackman, John Walter Blackman and Sarah Beth Carrie Blackman Dainel. He held a special and treasured place in the hearts of his family.

Throughout his life, Daniel demonstrated a love of learning, innovation, growth and service through his involvement in robotics and scouting, pursuits that reflected his curiosity, discipline and desire to contribute meaningfully to the world around him.

Daniel established the first robotics club in Snowflake, Arizona, opening doors of opportunity for young people in his community and inspiring interest in science, technology, teamwork and leadership.

In his youth, Daniel was deeply dedicated to scouting and worked diligently toward achieving the rank of eagle scout. Although repeated military relocations and the challenges of moving from community to community interrupted his progress before he could complete the final requirements, his commitment to the principles of scouting, duty, service, perseverance and character remained evident throughout his life.

Daniel also distinguished himself as an Army ROTC Cadet and earned the title and rank of Cadet Commander of the Army ROTC Program at Vilseck High School in Vilseck, Germany, demonstrating exceptional leadership, discipline and dedication.

Daniel pursued his education with diligence and determination and was a proud graduate of Northland Pioneer College. Later, he served a two-year mission in Northern California for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and throughout that service he strengthened others with his testimony, his example and his Christlike love. His faith was not simply something he believed in, but something he lived each day through kindness, ministry and selfless acts of service to those around him.

Daniel gave generously of his time and talents, volunteering more than 1,000 hours tutoring and helping special needs children learn to read, showing extraordinary patience, compassion and genuine care for children who needed encouragement and support. He also volunteered in several schools in Snowflake and Taylor, Arizona, where he quietly but powerfully touched the lives of students, teachers and families through his willingness to serve.

As a devoted member of his church, Daniel ministered to young men and women in his young single ward, offering friendship, guidance, encouragement and an example of faithful discipleship.

Among Daniel's final wishes was the hope that his home be placed in a trust to provide a place of refuge for young men and women returning from missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Snowflake and Taylor area, so that they might have the support, stability and a place of belonging as they regained their footing in the community. This final act of vision and generosity reflects the very essence of Daniel's life, his enduring concern for others, his devotion to faith and his desire to provide comfort, hope and belonging to those in need.

Daniel's life was a blessing to all who knew him, and he leaves behind a legacy of service, integrity, faith, leadership and love that will continue to inspire his family, his church, his community and all whose lives were made better by his presence.

Though his passing leaves deep sorrow, his memory remains a source of comfort and gratitude, and those who loved him will forever remember his goodness, his willing heart and the quiet light he brought into the lives of others.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona:

That the Members of the House of Representatives join the family, friends and community of Daniel Kayde Blackman in mourning his passing and honoring his life, service, memory and devotion to faith, and extend their deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his parents, Walt and Kristie Blackman, his siblings and all who loved him.
