BILL # HB 2075 |
TITLE: school districts; employment contracts; publication |
|
SPONSOR: Livingston |
|
|
PREPARED BY: Gordon Robertson |
STATUS: House Engrossed |
The House Engrossed version of HB 2075 would require each school district to submit to the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) a copy of the employment contracts for any individuals employed by the district as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, associate superintendent, or chief financial officer. The bill would require ADE to publish all submitted contracts to their website, as well as a searchable database summarizing the financial data contained within such contracts. The bill would require ADE to publish a report by December 1 each year summarizing the data in the submitted contracts.
Estimated Impact
Based on information from ADE, we estimate the bill would generate one-time costs of approximately $37,000 for ADE to modify its existing IT infrastructure to enable school districts to provide the data required under the bill in a format that ADE would then publish to their website.
Our estimate assumes the following:
1) ADE would modify its existing IT infrastructure to enable school districts to submit digital copies of the required employment contracts, as well as new data entry fields where a district would summarize the data that would be included in the required searchable database on ADE's website.
2) The cost to school districts to send ADE the required contracts is likely to be negligible.
