A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Arizona; amending article IV, part 2, section 2, CONSTITUTION of Arizona; AMENDING article V, section 2, Constitution of Arizona; relating to citizenship of elected officeholders.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:
1. Article IV, part 2, section 2, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:
2. Qualifications of members of legislature
Section 2. No a person shall NOT be a member of the Legislature unless he shall be THE PERSON IS a citizen of the United States at the time of his THE PERSON'S election, nor unless he shall be IS at least twenty-five years of age, and shall have HAS been a resident of Arizona at least three years and of the county from which he THE PERSON is elected at least one year before his THE PERSON'S election. A person who holds citizenship in more than one country is not ELIGIBLE to be a member of the legislature.
2. Article V, section 2, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:
2. Eligibility to state offices
Section 2. No a person shall NOT be eligible to any of the offices mentioned in section 1 of this article except a person of the age of not less than WHO IS AT LEAST twenty-five years, OF AGE AND who shall have been for ten years next preceding his THE PERSON'S election a citizen of the United States, and for five years next preceding his THE PERSON'S election a citizen of Arizona. A person who holds citizenship in more than one country is not eligible to hold any of the offices mentioned in section 1 of this article.
3. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona.
