Whereas, human life carries inherent dignity from conception to natural death, a principle reflected in longstanding ethical traditions, medical standards and cultural practices that guide society's treatment of individuals in vulnerable stages of development; and

Whereas, Arizona has a compelling interest in recognizing and supporting the value of every human life, including preborn children, individuals with disabilities, victims of violence, those facing serious illness and elderly persons who may be isolated or at risk; and

Whereas, although the Arizona Constitution recognizes abortion as a fundamental right, the legislature maintains a responsibility to affirm the sanctity of life at its earliest and most fragile stages; and

Whereas, this commitment is not dependent on political outcomes, but reflects a broader moral and civic obligation to safeguard those who cannot protect themselves and to promote a culture that treats every human being as worthy of protection and care; and

Whereas, the purpose of Celebrate Life Month is to encourage reflection on the value of human life at every stage of development, to promote respect, compassion and care for individuals in vulnerable circumstances, to highlight Arizona communities, organizations and professionals who provide life-affirming support to individuals and families, and to foster a culture in which decisions and public policies prioritize the protection and flourishment of human life; and

Whereas, the designation of the month of June 2026 as Celebrate Life Month creates an opportunity for Arizonans to reflect on the importance of human dignity and to acknowledge the work of individuals and organizations that provide life-affirming support and strengthen community efforts to uphold the value of human life across all stages of development and circumstances.

Therefore

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:

That the Members of the Legislature proclaim June 2026 as Celebrate Life Month in Arizona and encourage the citizens and lawmakers of this state to recognize the inherent, immeasurable worth of every human life from conception to natural death.
