AN ACT

 

Amending title 38, chapter 8, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 38-1121; relating to law enforcement agencies.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 38, chapter 8, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 38-1121, to read:

START_STATUTE38-1121. Law enforcement agencies; applicants; summary; definition

A. A law enforcement agency shall provide a SUMMARY to all applicants who were not hired for a position within the law enforcement agency or selected to move forward in the hiring process that explains why the applicant was not hired or selected. The LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY's summary pursuant to this section shall include all of the following information:

1. Any concerning BACKGROUND information DISCOVERED about the applicant.

2. The applicant's Physical fitness standard failures, if any.

3. Any medical concerns raised during the APPLICANT'S medical EXAMINATION.

4. The results of the applicant's Polygraph test.

5. Any concerns raised during the APPLICANT'S psychological exam.

B. For the purposes of this section, "Law enforcement agency" means a municipal police department, a county SHERIFF'S department, a publicly funded law enforcement department and the department of public safety. END_STATUTE
