AN ACT

appropriating monies to the department of education.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Appropriation; department of education; student success coaches; exemption

A. The sum of $2,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2025-2026 to the department of education to award a grant pursuant to title 41, chapter 24, Arizona Revised Statutes, to a nonprofit entity in this state to provide student success coaches who will provide academic, workforce and interpersonal skills education to students in public schools.  The department may award the grant only to an entity that can demonstrate at least thirty years of experience in youth development activities.

B. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
