Overview
Contains provisions relating to the management of state-owned buildings needed to implement the FY 2026 budget.
History
The Arizona Legislature adopts a budget for each fiscal year (FY) that contains general appropriations. Article IV, Section 20, Part 2 of the Constitution of Arizona requires the General Appropriations Act (feed bill) to contain only appropriations for the different state departments, state institutions, public schools and interest on public debt. Statutory changes necessary to reconcile the appropriations made in the feed bill and other changes are drafted into separate budget bills. These bills are prepared according to subject area.
Provisions
1. Alters the boundary of the sovereign land transferred from the Arizona State Land Department to Bullhead City in 2025. (Sec. 1)
2. Requires the Arizona Department of Administration to submit a report to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee by June 30 of each year that details all rental fee exemptions authorized in the previous year. (Sec. 1)
3. Sets the Capital Outlay Stabilization Fund rental rates for state owned buildings in FY 2026 at:
a) $17.87 per square foot for office space; and
b) $6.43 per square foot for storage space. (Sec. 2)
