Overview
Appropriates $3,000,000 from the state General Fund (GF) in FY 2026 to the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) to distribute to the Gila County Sheriff's Office for maintenance and operation of the office.
History
A sheriff's duties include: 1) preserving the peace; 2) arresting all persons who attempt to commit or commit a public offense; 3) taking charge of and keeping the county jail and prisoners in the county jail; 4) serving processes and notices; and 5) coordinating rescue operations (A.R.S. § 11-441).
The Gila County Sheriff's Office is a public service organization dedicated to providing the best possible service to the citizens of Gila County. It is comprised of three bureaus-the Administration Bureau, the Patrol Bureau and the Detention Bureau. The Administration Bureau provides support services to both the Patrol and Detention Bureau.
