Description

The bill would prohibit entities regulated by the Corporation Commission from hiring individuals who have been elected to, worked at, or independently contracted with the agency within four calendar years of employment.  Additionally, the bill would prohibit the Corporation Commission from hiring employees or independent contractors who worked for regulated entities within two calendar years.

Estimated Impact

We estimate that the bill would have no fiscal impact. We expect the bill would not impact the total number of employees hired by the Corporation Commission.  The Commission states that they expect this provision to neither change the compensation packages awarded to new hires nor affect the costs to the Commission of hiring new employees.
