proclaiming february 2025 as a month of remembrance of the lives lost in palestine, lebanon, sudan and congo.

Whereas, this state recognizes and mourns the tragic loss of countless innocent lives in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan and Congo, whose people have endured immense suffering and devastation; and

Whereas, communities around the world, including Arizona, stand in solidarity with those affected by violence and humanitarian crises in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan and Congo, seeking justice, peace and the preservation of human rights; and

Whereas, it is imperative to honor the lives of those lost, acknowledge the resilience of survivors and support efforts that promote healing, recovery and peace in these regions; and

Whereas, this state recognizes the contributions of advocacy organizations, humanitarian groups and community leaders who work tirelessly to raise awareness about the tragedies in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan and Congo and to foster understanding and compassion; and

Whereas, education, outreach and community partnerships play a vital role in increasing awareness of global issues and encouraging empathy and active support for humanitarian causes; and

Whereas, this state acknowledges that promoting human dignity and respecting the rights of all people, regardless of nationality, is essential to building a more compassionate and just society.

Therefore

Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona:

That the Members of the Senate proclaim February 2025 as a month of remembrance and solidarity, honoring the lives lost and advocating for peace and justice for the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan and Congo.
