amending Laws 2024, chapter 14, section 1; relating to the Arizona historical society.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Laws 2024, chapter 14, section 1 is amended to read:

Section 1. Conveyance of land and buildings; return of property

A. The Arizona historical society shall convey to the city of Yuma ownership of the following land and buildings:

1. The Sanguinetti House Museum and Gardens and Jack Mellon House located at 240 South Madison Avenue, Yuma, Arizona.

2. The Molina Block located at 272 Madison Avenue, Yuma, Arizona.

B. The president of the Arizona historical society shall deliver a properly signed and recorded deed or patent to the city of Yuma within fifteen days after the effective date of this act September 14, 2024.

C. The transferred land and buildings shall be used by the city of Yuma for public purposes perpetually and may not be sold, exchanged or bartered.

D. Any documents, items and other personal property that were at any time deeded to or donated to Yuma county, the Yuma county historical society or the Arizona historical society before or after the Arizona historical society took control of the Molina Block and the Sanguinetti House Museum and Gardens in 1972 are the property of the city of Yuma and shall be returned to the city of Yuma if the documents, items and other personal property meet any of the following:

1. Benefited Yuma County.

2. Were made in Yuma County.

3. Have significance to the history of Yuma.

E. Any documents, items and other personal property that remain in the control of the city of Yuma shall be inventoried by the Yuma County historical society and the Arizona historical society to determine whether the items meet the criteria described in subsection D of this section.
