proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Arizona; amending article VII, section 1, Constitution of Arizona; relating to suffrage and elections.

Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring:

1. Article VII, section 1, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:

CONST1. Qualifications for and method of voting; secrecy

Section 1. A. Only a person who is a citizen of the united States, who is eighteen years of age or older and who is a qualified registered voter as otherwise provided by law may vote in an election in this state.  a person may not vote for more candidates for an office than the number of offices to be filled and that vote shall be the sole means of determining the outcome of an election for public office that is required under federal or state law.

B. All elections by the people shall be by ballot, or by such other method as may be prescribed by law; Provided, that secrecy in voting shall be preserved. CONST

2. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona.
