A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

 

proposing an amendment to the constitution of arizona; amending article X, section 5, constitution of arizona; relating to state trust lands.

Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring:

1. Article X, section 5, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:

START_STATUTE5. Minimum price; relinquishment of lands to United States

Section 5. No lands shall be sold for less than three dollars per acre their true appraised value, and no lands which that are or shall be susceptible of irrigation under any projects now or hereafter completed or adopted by the United States under legislation for the reclamation of lands, or under any other project for the reclamation of lands, shall be sold at less than twenty-five dollars per acre their true appraised value based on susceptibility of irrigation; Provided, that the state, at the request of the secretary of the interior, shall from time to time relinquish such of its lands to the United States as at any time are needed for irrigation works in connection with any such government project, and other lands in lieu thereof shall be selected from lands of the character named and in the manner prescribed in section twenty-four of the said Enabling Act. 2. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona.
