Purpose
Appropriates $7,250,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2023 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to design and construct a screen wall on the eastbound portion of Loop 101 in the vicinity of 16th Street.
Background
ADOT is
responsible for the design and construction of state public transportation
systems and the maintenance and operation of state highways in Arizona (A.R.S.
§ 28-332). ADOT may to contract and do all things necessary to secure the
full benefits available to Arizona for transportation purposes under federal
law and, in doing so, ADOT may cooperate with: 1) federal, state and local
government agencies; 2) Indian tribes; 3) private and public organizations; and
4) private individuals. ADOT may also exchange federal monies with local
governments in order to receive local monies and may include additional federal
monies in the exchange to offset the matching costs required of local
governments (A.R.S.
§ 28-334).
S.B. 1193 appropriates $7,250,000 from the state GF in FY 2023 to ADOT.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $7,250,000 from the state GF in FY 2023 to ADOT to design and construct a screen wall on the eastbound portion of Loop 101 near 16th Street.
2. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
