Committee on Health & Human Services

Overview

Repeals the licensure requirement for pharmacy technician trainees and instead requires pharmacy technician trainee applicants to register with the Board of Pharmacy (Board). Modifies the definition of unethical conduct in the practice of pharmacy.

History

The Board protects the public and oversees the practice of pharmacy by issuing licenses and permits, investigating and resolving complaints and providing information to the public about the status of licenses and permit holders. Additionally, statute outlines what is considered to be unethical conduct in the practice of pharmacy (A.R.S. §§  32-1901.01 and 32-1904).

An applicant for licensure as a pharmacy technician trainee must submit with the application fee prescribed by the board which can not exceed $100. A license expires 36 months after it is issued and can not be renewed or reissued. An applicant for licensure as a pharmacy technician trainee must:

1)   Be of a good moral character;
