The House Engrossed version of HB 2371 directs each state agency to accept cash and money orders to pay any amount due.

Overview

Prohibits a governmental entity from requiring, without parental consent, a minor to receive a vaccination for COVID-19 or any variant of COVID-19.

History

Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can cause illnesses such as the common cold, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). A novel coronavirus is a new coronavirus that has not been previously identified. The novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), has caused a worldwide pandemic of respiratory illness called COVID-19. 

Provisions

1.   Repeals statute relating to vaccine passport prohibitions. (Sec. 1)

2.   Prohibits a governmental entity from requiring a person under age 18, without parent or guardian consent, to receive a vaccination for COVID-19 or any variant of COVID-19. (Sec. 2)

3.   Applies a class 1 misdemeanor to a violation of the provisions. (Sec. 2)

4.   Authorizes the county attorney to prosecute any violation of the provisions. (Sec. 2)
