FLOOR AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Requires the automated crime victim notification system to automatically, and without the requirement to download a software application or to opt in to notifications, notify the victim by email or text of all of the outlined information regarding a victim's law enforcement crime report, investigation and case.
2. Removes the Prosecutor Crime Victim Notification Fund and outlined requirements relating to the software the Fund monies must be spent on.
3. Increases the appropriation to the Law Enforcement Crime Victim Notification Fund from $3,600,000 to $3,800,000.
4. Removes the $1,500,000 appropriation to the Prosecutor Crime Victim Notification Fund.
5. Appropriates $1,400,000 from the state General Fund in FY 2023 to the Victims' Rights Fund.
6. Makes technical and conforming changes.
