Overview

Prohibits state of emergency restrictions from being placed on the normal operations of a store that sells firearms, ammunition or components of either.

History

The Governor may proclaim a state of emergency in an area affected, or likely to be affected, by air pollution, fire, flood or floodwater, storm, epidemic, riot, earthquake or other causes when the conditions cause extreme peril to the safety of people and property within the state (A.R.S. §§ 26-301; 26-303).

Laws 2007, Ch. 101 prohibited the Governor, Adjutant General or other official from using their emergency powers to impose additional restrictions on the lawful possession, transfer, sale or other use of firearms, ammunition or components of either (A.R.S. § 26-303).

Provisions

1.   Prevents, during a state of emergency, restrictions from being placed on the normal operations of a store that sells firearms, ammunition or components of firearms or ammunition. (Sec. 1)
