SB 1104: campaign finance; contributions; disclosures; itemization

Sponsor:  Senator Mesnard, LD 17

Transmitted to the Governor

Overview

Modifies the itemization of campaign finance reports.

History

Current statute directs a committee to file campaign finance reports with the filing officer and for the Secretary of State's instruction and procedures manual to prescribe the format for all statements and reports.  A campaign finance report is required to include various itemizations including the amount of cash on hand at the beginning of the reporting period.  The campaign finance report must also detail total receipts during the reporting period including an itemized list of receipts that outlines the source, amount and date of receipt, together with the total of all receipts in each category.  Some of the categories include contributions from individuals whose contributions exceed $50 for that election cycle, including identification of their occupation and employer and the aggregate amount of contributions from all individuals whose contributions do not exceed $50 for the election cycle (A.R.S. § 16-926).
