HB 2836: appropriations; rural community colleges

Overview

Appropriates monies from the GF in FY 2022 to various county community college districts (CCCD).

History

Community college is defined as an educational institution that is operated by a district board and that provides a program not exceeding two years’ training in the arts, sciences and humanities beyond the 12th grade of the public or private high school course of study or vocational education, including terminal courses of a technical and vocational nature and basic adult education courses (A.R.S. §15-1401).

Community college districts may be organized for a single county, two or more contiguous counties or an existing community college district and contiguous counties not part of any community college district if the proposed district has a net assessed valuation, based on the valuation for the preceding year, of at least $448,017,200  and a minimum population of 40,000 people who are at least 15 years of age (A.R.S. §15-1402).

Provisions

1.   Appropriates the following sums from the GF in FY 2022:

a)   $4,080,300 to Cochise CCCD;

b)   $1,313,900 to Coconino CCCD;

c)   $458,500 to Gila CCCD;

d)   $1,643,600 to Graham CCCD;

e)   $3,100,000 to Mohave CCCD;

f) $1,153,600 to Navajo CCCD;

g)   $2,402,400 to Pinal CCCD;

h)   $99,400 to Santa Cruz CCCD;

i)   $3,503,500 to Yavapai CCCD; and
