Overview
Appropriates an unspecified amount from the state General Fund in fiscal year (FY) 2022 to the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) to study potential sources of water for use in Arizona.
History
The Governor's Water Augmentation, Innovation and Conservation Council was established by executive order in 2019 and consists of several committees that study and develop potential solutions to long-standing water challenges in Arizona. One of these committees, the Long-Term Water Augmentation Committee, has been identifying and exploring methods of augmenting water supplies. It published a report in August 2019 that identified potential augmentation strategies for each of Arizona’s 22 planning areas.
