The Governor's Water Augmentation, Innovation and Conservation Council was established by executive order in 2019 and consists of several committees that study and develop potential solutions to long-standing water challenges in Arizona. It published a report in August 2019 that identified potential augmentation strategies for each of Arizona’s 22 planning areas.
