Overview

States when the last preceding election is for an officer elected in a nonpartisan election who is subject to a recall. 

History

Every public officer holding an elected office is subject to a recall from that office by the qualified electors of the district from where the candidates for that office are elected. A recall petition may demand the officer's recall if signed by a number of qualified electors equaling 25% of the number of votes cast in the last preceding general election for all candidates running for the office held by the officer, divided by the number of offices filled in that election (A.R.S. § 19-201).

Provisions

1.   Specifies that, for an officer elected in a nonpartisan election and who is the subject of a recall, the last preceding general election is the last preceding election in which the officer was declared elected. (Sec. 1)
