Overview

Allows a school district's career and technical education projects fund (fund) to consist of proceeds from services provided by career and technical education (CTE) programs. Modifies permissible uses of projects fund monies.

History

Statute authorizes a school district governing board to establish a permanent career and technical education and vocational education projects fund that consists of proceeds from the sale of items produced by a CTE program. Currently, monies may be used for:

1)    The purchase of materials for use in a CTE program that produce a product that may be sold by the school district;

2)    The purchase of equipment, not to exceed $5,000 in a fiscal year, for use by a CTE program that produces a product that may be sold by a school district; and

3)    Expenses directly related to the planning and designing of CTE program products.

Monies may not be used to pay salaries, wages or employee fringe benefits. All monies exceeding $100,000 revert to the school's plant fund at the end of the fiscal year (A.R.S. § 15-1231).
