SENATE AMENDMENTS TO S.B. 1324

Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert:

"Section 1. Title 6, chapter 2, article 12, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 6-392, to read:

START_STATUTE6-392. Prohibited fees

A bank that operates in this state may not charge or collect the following fees:

1. A fee to open a savings or checking account.

2. A monthly service or maintenance fee, regardless of the customer's account balance, if the sole purpose of the fee is to allow a customer to maintain a savings or checking account with that bank." END_STATUTE
