SB 1802 establishes August 14 as National Dine’, Hopi and Indigenous Code Talkers Day. It establishes the day as a legal holiday, except that if August 14 falls on any day other than Sunday, the following Sunday is observed as the holiday.
Estimated Impact
We estimate that there is no fiscal impact associated with the bill.
Public offices and courts of justice cannot open on a legal holiday, including Sunday. Because the bill establishes National Dine’, Hopi and Indigenous Code Talkers Day on August 14 but observes the holiday on Sundays, we estimate there is no fiscal impact associated with the new holiday.
