SENATE AMENDMENTS TO H.B. 2282

Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert:
"Section 1. Title 15, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-701.02, to read:
15-701.02. Instruction on the Holocaust and antisemitism
A. The state board of education shall require that instruction about the holocaust and its root causes include instruction on antisemitism that meets all of the following:
1. includes both classic and contemporary manifestations of antisemitism.
2. uses the definition of antisemitism that was adopted by the international holocaust remembrance alliance on May 26, 2016.
3. includes the CONTEMPORARY examples of antisemitism that are identified in the adopted definition.
B. This section does not diminish or infringe on any right that is protected under the Constitution of Arizona or the first amendment to the United States Constitution."
