PROPOSED

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AMENDMENTS TO S.B. 1439

(Reference to Senate engrossed bill)

 

 

 


Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert:

"Section 1.  Unemployment insurance; benefits

A.  Notwithstanding section 23‑779, subsection C, Arizona Revised Statutes, through December 31, 2020, each eligible individual unemployed with respect to any week shall be paid with respect to that week a benefit in an amount equal to the person's weekly benefit amount less that part of the wages, if any, payable to the person with respect to that week that is in excess of $300.

B.  If the federal government expands unemployment benefits offered under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act beyond December 31, 2020, this section applies through the federal extension.

Sec. 2.  Emergency

This act is an emergency measure that is necessary to preserve the public peace, health or safety and is operative immediately as provided by law."
