commodity development and promotion; appropriation
Purpose
Appropriates $300,000 and two full-time equivalent positions (FTEs) from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2021 to the Office of Commodity Development and Promotion for programs that promote Arizona agricultural products.
Background
The Office of Commodity Development and Promotion is established within the Arizona Department of Agriculture. The Office of Commodity Development and Promotion must provide programs to stimulate, educate, encourage and foster the production and consumption of Arizona agricultural products (A.R.S. § 3-109.02).
S.B. 1147 appropriates $300,000 and two FTEs from the state GF in FY 2021 to the Office of Commodity Development and Promotion.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $300,000 and two FTEs from the state GF in FY 2021 to the Office of Commodity Development and Promotion for programs that promote Arizona agricultural products.
2. Exempts the appropriation from lapsing.
3. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
