AN ACT

 

amending Title 16, chapter 4, article 10, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 16-621.01; relating to conduct of ELECTIONS.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 16, chapter 4, article 10, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-621.01, to read:

START_STATUTE16-621.01.  Postelection review; hand count; tabulation equipment; notice; referral

A.  When the number of ballots cast in any precinct exceeds the number of registered voters in the precinct on the twenty-ninth day preceding the date of the election, the county recorder or other officer in charge of elections shall conduct a hand count for that precinct and shall post on the website of the county recorder or other officer in charge of elections the results of that hand count.

B.  Within ten days after completing the official canvass, The county recorder or other officer in charge of elections shall publish in a newspaper of general circulation in that county the error logs, if any, for all tabulating EQUIPMENT used in the election and shall certify that the tabulating equipment was not connected to an external internet network During the period that begins twenty‑four hours before the start of early ballot tabulation through the completion of ballot tabulation.

C.  If the county recorder or other officer in charge of elections determines that a person cast more than one ballot in an election in which a federal candidate appeared on the ballot, that person shall be referred to the United States department of justice for investigation. END_STATUTE
