AN ACT

 

amending title 16, chapter 8, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 16-1101; relating to ESTABLISHMENT of LEGISLATIVE and congressional DISTRICTS.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 16, chapter 8, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-1101, to read:

START_STATUTE16-1101.  Redistricting; legislative district designation

Notwithstanding any other law, the legislative district that contains the city of Prescott, as the first territorial capital, is designated as legislative district ONE.  If the city of prescott is located in more than one legislative district, the legislative district that contains the largest percentage of the city's population is designated as district one. END_STATUTE
