AN ACT
amending title 9, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 9-500.46; amending title 11, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 11-269.27; relating to local contracts.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 9, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 9-500.46, to read:
9-500.46. Contracts; contracting with small businesses; definition
A. If a city or town anticipates a contract for services will total more than $5,000, the city or town shall first solicit bids from small businesses.
b. For the purposes of this section, "small business" means any corporation, proprietorship, partnership, limited liability company or association that does not routinely accept contracts of $1,000,000 or more.
Sec. 2. Title 11, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 11-269.27, to read:
11-269.27. Contracts; contracting with small businesses; definition
A. If a county anticipates a contract for services will total more than $5,000, the county shall first solicit bids from small businesses.
b. For the purposes of this section, "small business" means any corporation, proprietorship, partnership, limited liability company or association that does not routinely accept contracts of $1,000,000 or more.
