AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Reduces the school
district's limit on desegregation expenses each fiscal year by 50 percent of
the calculated opportunity index.
2. Allows the school
district to apply the opportunity index to establish compliance with the court
order or administrative agreement.
3. Allows the school
district to continue to levy taxes, to establish compliance with the court
order or administrative agreement, if state monies are not provided for the
opportunity index in any fiscal year.
