History

According the Veterans Benefits Administration, there are a variety of benefits available to veterans that include: disability compensation, pension, education and training and health care. The Department of Defense notes that about 5,000 legal permanent resident aliens enlist each year.

Currently, the American Civil Liberties Union recognizes at least 239 veterans of the United States Armed Forces have been deported to at least 34 countries.

Provisions

1.       Urges the U.S. Congress to enact legislation providing medical treatment and other benefits for all veterans of the United States Armed Forces, including those who have been deported.

2.       Directs the Secretary of State to transmit copies of this memorial to the President of the U.S. Senate, the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and each member of Congress from Arizona.
