History

The Aging and Adult Services division under DES administers a statewide program of advocacy, social services and programs to serve at-risk and older adults. Aging and Adult Division offers these programs to senior citizens:

a.       Aging and Disability Resource Consortium

b.      Arizona Senior Medicare Patrol Program

c.       Aging and Disability Services

d.      Long Term Care

e.       Senior Community Service Employment Program

 

Arizona has 21 federally recognized Native American tribes.

 

Provisions

1.       Appropriates monies in each FY 2020 and FY2021 to DES to distribute to the following tribal governments for programs for senior citizens:

a.       $500,000 for the Navajo Nation;

b.       $500,000 for the Hopi Tribe;

c.        $500,000 for the Hualapai Indian Tribe;

d.       $500,000 for the Havasupai Tribe;

e.       $500,000 for the White Mountain Apache Tribe;

f.         $500,000 for the San Carlos Apache Tribe;

g.       $500,000 for the Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians;

h.       $500,000 for the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe. (Sec. 1)
