History

In current statute, a county is authorized to determine the budgets of all elected and appointed county officers by action of the Board (A.R.S. § 11-201). The officers of the county are the sheriff, recorder, treasurer, school superintendent, county attorney, assessor, supervisors, clerk of the Board and tax collectors (A.R.S. § 11-401).

Provisions

1.       Prohibits the Board from rejecting or otherwise interfering with a law enforcement agency's or prosecution agency's receipt of federal grant monies, award monies and other monies that are intended to supplement the budget of a law enforcement or prosecution agency as prescribed in statute. (Sec. 1)

2.       Requires the Board to accept, for the operation of a law enforcement or prosecution agency, federal grant, award or other monies that are intended to supplement the approved budget of the law enforcement or prosecution agency if they are otherwise eligible and qualified for federal grant, award or other funding. (Sec. 2)
