Page 1, between lines 1 and 2, insert:
"Section 1. Title 15, chapter 1, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-189.06, to read:
15-189.06. Charter schools; teacher performance evaluation systems; principal evaluation policies
A. Each charter school governing body shall establish a system to evaluate the PERFORMANCE of teachers in the charter school in the same manner that is prescribed for school districts in section 15‑537, subsection A. The evaluation system established pursuant to this subsection may not be implemented until the governing body obtains approval from the state board of education.
B. Each charter school governing body shall adopt policies to evaluate the PERFORMANCE of principals in the charter school in the same manner that is prescribed for school districts in section 15‑341, subsection A, paragraph 41. The evaluation policies adopted pursuant to this subsection may not be implemented until the governing body obtains approval from the state board of education."

"42. Adopt and maintain a model framework for a teacher and principal evaluation instrument."
Page 17, line 41, after the period insert "The evaluation policies adopted pursuant to this paragraph may not be implemented until the governing board obtains approval from the state board of education."
Page 23, line 42, after the period insert "The evaluation system established pursuant to this subsection may not be implemented until the governing board obtains approval from the state board of education."
