FLOOR
AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Requires schools to
provide vision screening services to students upon initial entry to school and
no more than two additional grade levels.
2. Exempts, from the
training requirement, persons who are already trained to administer vision
screenings before the effective date of the bill.
3. Specifies that a
student is not required to submit to any vision screening for any reason,
including if the student received a comprehensive eye and vision examination in
the last year.
4. Limits access to vision
screening data collected by the Department of Health Services.
5. Defines volunteer.
